SASSA SRD R350 Status Check and Payment Methods

Press Release: 19th May, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) regrets to announce that, as of May 11, cash pay stations where recipients of social grants typically receive their assistance will no longer be supported owing to circumstances beyond SASSA’s control.

Customers are urged not to travel to any Post Office branch in order to retrieve the funds because this difficulty extends to Post Office locations.

In order to help all clients in receiving PINs so they may do business at the nearby retail establishments and bank ATMs, SASSA is now conducting contingency measures where both SASSA SRD R350 status check and SAPO workers are present at the pay terminals.

Additionally, SASSA SRD R350 status check employees continue to help impacted customers access services and make sure that clients are given accurate information.

We would like to remind everyone that the SASSA/SAPO card may be used at any retailer or bank ATM.

Customers can use their cards to make purchases or to withdraw the cash they need.

The card’s remaining balances are secure and may be retrieved anytime necessary.

You don’t have to take out the entire amount of money at once.

It is advised against going to the Post Office to get the R350 in uncollected cash for COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress clients.

Those who choose to obtain their R350 COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant at SAPO branches are also urged to visit www.srd.sassa.gov.za and choose the option to pick up the grant from any of the retail establishments listed below.

Customers who still owe SAPO/Postbank R350 in unpaid COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress Grants can pick them up at any of the following retail locations: Checkers, Usave, Shoprite, Pick & Pay, and Boxer.

Clients must have their identity documents and the cellphone they registered with when applying for the grant when they report to a merchant to access the funds since the OTP number will be provided to this registered number.

All COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress grant candidates are urged to update their account information so that the grant may be deposited into their own individual bank accounts, since this is the most secure method of doing so.

Additionally, SASSA will keep in touch with local authorities, council members, and traditional leaders to let clients know how to receive their monies.

The SASSA SRD R350 status check apologizes to all of its clients for any trouble this may have brought about.
