SASSA Status Check and Appeal for Reconsideration

The processes outlined in this post will assist you in making an appeal to SASSA.
The South African Social Security Body is a government agency that distributes social subsidies on behalf of the Department of Social Development in South Africa.
These social subsidies are offered to help enhance societal standards of living and are granted to persons who are susceptible to poverty and in need of government assistance, such as the elderly, disabled people, and parents with small children.
How To Send Your Appeal
If your application was refused the first time around and you want it reassessed, you can file an appeal.
SASSA is accepting R350 award applications.
- Go to https://srd.sassa.gov.za to access the SRD portal.
- Select the ‘Reconsideration Application’ tab.
- Then choose ‘Click here to request reconsideration.’
- Provide your phone number and ID number.
- Fill the remaining steps to have your payment reconsidered.
You won’t need to send another appeal or contact the SASSA office if you’ve previously filed one.
SASSA Status Check in September
- Simply go to SRD at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status to check SASSA status.
- Fill in your application number and contact information.
- Then press the Submit button.
